Congee

Chinese congee or Jook is comfort food and necessary for recovering of surgery or just to keep you warm.

 

This was brown rice with lots and lots of water, when it was almost cooked I put in the beef mince and I had cut the presoaked mushrooms and fungi.  The mince had been soaking whilst the rice was cooking in a mix of salt and soya sauce.
